Five Great Reasons To Come To Our Church In October

October celebrates the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, and Martin Luther’s posting of the 95 Theses at the church in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517.

Here are 5 great reason to come to church in October:

5. Oct 1st—75th Anniversary of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML)! Along with these women in mission, we are ready to confess Jesus Christ to the world.—I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. (2 Timothy 4:1-2)

4. Oct 8th—We believe in Scripture Alone! We thank God for the gift of His Holy Word as we affirm it to be the only rule of Christian faith and life.—All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

3. Oct 15th—We are saved by Grace Alone! God does it all for us freely as a gift in Christ Jesus our Lord.—For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

2. Oct 22nd—We are justified by Faith Alone! The Holy Spirit creates this faith within us by His power and through the Word of God, through the Good News of Jesus Christ.—For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17)

1. Oct 29th—10:00 am—Our Salvation is found in Christ Alone! This is the Good News! Four young people will be confirmed in the Christian faith that morning as we celebrate the eternal Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the author and perfector of our faith, and Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
